Did you know that Oktoberfest has been celebrated around the world since 1810 and remains a popular holiday event even to this day? It began as a wedding celebration when Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on Oct. 12, 1810. The wedding was celebrated with multiple days of feasting, drinking, and horse races.
